yah. I just needed another "Self portrait"... so I used my arm. Thought I'd use that M.C. Escher pic of the hands drawing eachother as inspiration. yah.

lack-lustre, but gets the job done.

wow... I never expected such a prais for that pic... in fact, I did it in about ten minutes, from taking the first picture to finalizing it. I just did it 'cause I knew my teacher would be entertained enough. I got an A in that class, even AFTER the fact of me not even caring (or doing) my final project.

Really? Wow! How did you do it?

just some quick photoshopping.

first, I took a picture of the big binder on the desk.

then, I took a pic of my arm on another desk (I was lazy)

THEN I took them into photoshop and cut my arm out of one picture and put it on top of the binder (badly... the cut is too sharp for the camera's detail level. I didn't care, though).

I duplicated it into three layers- one for the pencil portion, then one for the grid-water color blah. the last is the real arm, obviously.

I applied the filters to each layer to make it look right, and then I erased parts of each layer with a big and faded eraser tool so the layers blended into eachother.

finally, I made one last layer (set to multiply, I think), and painted gray where the shadows should be under my arm and the pencil. that was kinda tedious.

ya know, I've been looking at doing commissions for people... first one's free if you're interested :3

Wow! Interesting!!!! I'm hoping to learn how to use photoshop... that's awesome the things you can do with it!

haha... thanks! It's always refreshing to hear from someone who isn't critisizing the copyrights of 'this' or complaining about my technique used in 'that'... or trying to continue an argument I started in the forums I didn't even remember anymore... ^^;

OH MY GOD!!!! That's sooo cool! That musta been so hard to do. I love that! What and awesome idea! I can't even get over it! YAYNESS!

hehe... it was about 15 minutes of boredom in my art class. I just happened to have a camera on hand, so I just did... whatever came to mind.
