Artist's CommentsThis is part of an epic 9.5 part series of pictures I'm doing as a collaborative with a friend on the Facepunch Forums (Half Life 2 modding community, and such). I'm doing high-quality images of her small sketch, (don't worry, I got permission. she LOVES the idea, since she can't do the coloring herself). I'm doing the high-res lineart (with a touch of my own style, while keeping the heart of the picture near identical), then painting it with my "airbrushing" technique found in an older picture of mine. This character is a female retake on the Scout character from the new game "Team Fortress 2", which is made by valve and included in the "orange box". The original sketch was done by Cirea, a new member to the FP scene. Her brother apparently had the idea. I quote her post below, and here's the link to the sketch- [link] "A couple of days a go my brother (Acegikmo) came to me and asked me to draw the TF2 team as females, the female body is beautiful and I don't mind drawing it so I thought; why not?. I sat down and realized I don't know much about the game, so I spent a day googling and youtubing pictures and videos and played some myself. In mind that I wanted the picture to be good enough for people to see who they represented, if I succeeded I don't know yet. Ace told me that some actually think pyro is a girl, that's the reason why I didn't change him ( I still think it's a "him") in the picture. Pyro is my personal favourite, maybe because of the "mysteries" around him, or maybe because of the Ignis solus movie which I love (It amazed me how I actually was calling pyro cute after seeing it, that is some good movie making, huge credit to them). Another character I have to explain is Heavy... Well let's just say I decided it's his daughter. Now I don't have much more to say. Except I have to excuse the weapons, it was really hard to make them look good when I was drawing in such a small format. And I did actually draw the TF2 logo first, but I decided in the end to replace it with the real one." |
